Rimmel's Stay Matte Pressed Powder Review

14 Nov 2010

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder, Transparent .49 oz (14 g)So as promised, i'm getting around to reviewing the products i said i would on my post named Quick Update. One of the first to be reviewed is Rimmel's Stay Matte Pressed Powder. So you can imagine me bumbling around in my local drugstore, looking for a pressed powder to set my foundation with. I have tried many, including some of Rimmels other pressed powders. However, i found that after a few hours i would end up with shiny nose syndrome, and kept having to reapply. Yes, i know that make up does slide off your face if you have oily areas (the only one of mine being my nose), however i do not usually have the time to keep reapplying so frequently. So this is one for all you busy ladies out there who do not have the time or patience to avoid having a shiny face.

As the pot advertises, it is supposed to give your face a sort of matte look (or in dummy terms, non shiny). I applied this powder with a large powder brush, as it does not come with a puff to apply. It is reasonably inexpensive, and does last a long time. I suppose on average, on my face it lasts around five hours, give or take depending on weather conditions. There are plenty of colours to choose from, i use Pink Blossom as i am relatively pale, and it is the second most pale they offer. The pressed powder also boasts the inclusion of natural minerals. I know this is a good thing, but since i've never used make up with minerals in, i don't know the exact advantage.

Anyway, this is a basic pressed powder, but it's good at what it says it does on the pot. I recommend for those on a budget, because it is inexpensive, but effective.
