I'm back from my blogging hiatus. I just didn't have much to say, and I had a post idea stuck in my head but I needed to sort of 'prepare' (well, not really) for it first and I lacked the motivation to do so. A few days ago I was in Boots looking for glittery nail polishes, and I of course went to the models own stand first because a) I like their nail polishes more than other brands and b) most beauty bloggers have been wearing the sparkly nail polish from models own and I liked it. Unfortunately the models own stand in my Boots is teeny and only had like two nail polishes to choose from.
L-R Gold Rush, Nude Beige, Juicy Jules
There was a 'special deal' on (aka spend too much money on polish you don't need and we'll throw in an ugly one that's not selling well.) So I picked up the colours Nude Beige and dithered between Juicy Jules and Proper Copper (Lol who comes up with the names?!) In the end I chose Juicy Jules, the free one on offer was Gold Rush. I'm not quite sure whether Gold Rush is quite a nice colour or not? I'm leaning towards not as it has quite a lot of yellow in it but I'm quite critical when it comes to nail colours.
Which one is your favourite by the way? Would you wear the Gold Rush one? I might try it and then post what it actually looks like on the nails. I've got the nude beige polish on at the moment which is pretty subtle and I was thinking of maybe jazzing it up with the Juicy Jules because it looks as though it would take a few coats to become opaque, so I might add it over the top of the nude beige for a hint of glitter.
If anyone is interested this is what Nude Beige looks like after one coat. You could add more coats but I like the way it looks. My fingers are pink because it's freezing in the house and the only things heating me up are the continuous cups of tea I am drinking.
In other news I received my first Glossy Box today. It was actually delivered on Friday but I was out so I had to pick it up from the delivery place. I'm actually not as disappointed as what most people seem to be with it. But I'll review it in another post if you want to hear my thoughts on it?
Have a lovely day
xo

Welcome back lovely! Juicy Jules does take quite a lot to build it up so I'm sure some subtle glitter would look lovely over Nude Beige. That's a combo I've never tried but definitely need to at some point x
ReplyDeleteI love your sleek new blog design :) I don't own any Models Own yet, I rather like Juicy Jules.. I like this beige on to for a subtle colour. I probably would wear the gold one as I sometimes like trashy colours!
ReplyDeleteOh yes the fairy hobmother basically gives you an Amazon voucher so you can buy what you like, doesn't have to be a domestic appliance! :p xx
lovely!
ReplyDeleteWhat does Juicy Jules mean anyway? Gold is not really my colour, but could you have a coat of Nude and a thin coat of gold? Would that work? Love the new design by the way!
ReplyDeleteReally great!
ReplyDelete@ Noas' Libellule: I have no idea what Juicy Jules means, often their nail polishes are named something completely random. Gold isn't really my colour either but I thought it would be good during the festive season. I could try the nude with the gold, although the gold has a thicker consistency and looks like it would go on more opaque. I will try though. Thanks for the comment :) xo
ReplyDeleteLove the new header! Juicy Jules looks gorgeous but then again I'm an absolute sucker for anything that sparkles. I like the beige on you though!
ReplyDeleteI love nude beige nail polishes. And I always love glitter, especially this time of year.
ReplyDeleteI like the single coat for this nailpolish. Pretty!

i love the really glittery one <3 really need to buy some models own, they look so nice :)
ReplyDeletewww.sammy-city.blogspot.com
@Sammy, they are really nice, and great colours too. I find them hard wearing and they dry fast. You can check their website as they have lots of deals on! :) xo
ReplyDeleteI really like all 3 colors that you chose! I've heard nice things about Model's Own. It's just some require more coats than others. Great choices Sarah and welcome back.
ReplyDeletehttp://sassyuptownchic.blogspot.com/
@SassyUptownChic Models Own nail polishes really are my favourite. I'm hoping to do a few more giveaways in the next few months and their nail polishes will definitely be up for grabs! xo
ReplyDeleteI was actually on a hunt for a shade like that! but i haven't heard of that brand of nail polish from this side of the world :(
ReplyDelete@Hazel, they do ship but I think it might be a bit expensive :( xo
ReplyDeleteoooh i have nude- lovee it. I did my nails with silver glitter over the nude last night for my ball- it made them look well post :) (also nail varnish is such a nightmare, always spend so much on itt xx
ReplyDeleteI have never tried Models Own nail polishes but I quite like the gold polish that I have. The nude colour is very pretty!

I think you better spice it up with the glittery one! Looks like one of my macala nail polishes, it's nice to see in the botyle and it's totally different on nails! Come on the glod one is not that bad!
ReplyDeleteI'm curious about the silver polish! Do you make a update with it?
ReplyDeleteI rather like Juicy Jules. I think it's really lovely!
ReplyDeletehttp://thesmallnoble.blogspot.com/
@ Patrizia I like Juicy Jules too :), I was just unsure of the Gold Rush polish :). xo
ReplyDeleteI love them all! So great colours!
ReplyDeleteThese shades are pretty, but I prefer brighter colors on my nails. I like feeling happy when I look down at my hands.

I quite like the gold... is that bad? I probably wouldn't like to wear it, come to think of it, but hey.. free nail polish is free nail polish!
ReplyDeleteModels own is such a good brand. Their eyeliner comes with a pencil sharpener built into the lid, how handy is that?? Amazing. Cute post :) xx
@ Charlotte, I really like Models Own but I've yet to try anything else apart from their nail polishes. I want to try the eyeliner now though, the little design sounds nifty. xo
ReplyDeleteI don't know how gold rush looks in life, but I've been on hunt for gold color nail polish! I think it's very chic! I love your choices!
ReplyDeleteI love this nail polish! So cute!

Gold was never my fav, but then again neither was glitter :D I always prefer pastel tones (without any idea of shimmer because my nails have rough lines and with shimmer these are actually enhanced); I like the beige one very much even to wear it like that - for me it is just a resemblance of simple elegance :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a gorgeous neutral. It would go with anything!!!

Great nail polishes!

I think the coverage of models own is really good and juicy jules is my favourite!
ReplyDeleteI love nude beige too, in fact I did nude beige with juicy jules tips once... here!

I really really like the Gold Rush colour. I'm on the look out for a nice gold nail polish at the moment. I reckon Models Own have some great polishes, but their consistencies are so different from colour to colour.
