Street Signs

27 Sep 2011

This will probably be my last post about Prague because I've not really got many other really good photos to show you apart from the ones that I have already.

I have an obsession with shop street signs. I don't know why, but I'm always attracted to cobbled streets with coffee shop signs hanging from the walls. They're so decorative and I think that they can say so much about a place. I love going to different places and different streets and looking at all the signs hanging above my head. I always seem to be drawn to shops that have them. Here are a few I found in Prague, I think that they're so quaint.

I'll hope that you'll forgive me One of the photos isn't a street sign, and I did have a few more on my camera but it's taken over an hour to upload these so far and frustration has gotten the better of me. Is there anything you look out for/find unusually interesting when visiting a new city?

Prague

25 Sep 2011

It is my last day in Prague today. Tomorrow I'll be flying home :(. I don't want to leave, I love relaxing on holiday and drinking in pubs at 8.30am without being accused of being an alcoholic. Here will be a huge photo post of most of the pictures my boyfriend and I took.

I wasn't going to post as many pictures, but many people had a good reaction to my previous post, and either really liked it when they visited or really want to visit. I would say please do - the beer is excellent, as is the culture, atmosphere and surroundings.

What has been your favourite holiday?

Prague so far

23 Sep 2011

I've been here for just over 24 hours and it's been so fun. Most of our time has been spent drinking (the beer is so cheap), eating and sleeping. A bit of walking too but mainly to enable us to reach the establishments to do the eating and the drinking. Prague has some beautiful architecture (and did I mention cheap beer?) Here are just a few photos from my first 24 hours.

This reminds me of the Disney castle. I've never been to Disney land but you know when a film is starting and it has the music? Either that or Hogwarts.

Hehe I like this picture. I love my purple converse!

My boyfriend and I visited a restaurant in the market square and had some traditional Czech food.

I am so excited to go out and about again and get exploring. There is so much to see and to do. My boyfriend has gone on a bus tour at the moment, I was going to go but yesterday on our transfer journey from the airport to the hotel I suffered from the most horrible car sickness. I wasn't sick (thank goodness), but I was stuck at the back of a small minibus and it was stuffy and where I was sitting there were no doors/windows to open. I thought that today I should just take it easy and do some exploring of the city on foot.

In my bag

21 Sep 2011

I am off to Prague in the early hours of this morning, so I do apologise if I don't get back to comments asap. I'm sorry that I haven't been blogging as much recently. I have really wanted to, and I've been thinking about it for a while, but as well as being really busy I didn't much like my new layout. Knowing that I would be really busy and unable to tweak the design to my liking drained my enthusiasm.

Anyway, about the holiday! I am so excited! I have to check in at about six in the morning, but I love flying. Above I put together a list of things I always take on holiday with me. Do you have anything that you'd feel lost without if you went on holiday without it?

I'll try and post whilst I am away, and will definitely be taking lots of pictures!

My Favourite Things

11 Sep 2011

It's getting really autumnal outside now. It was reasonably warm and nice out before, but now it's raining and quite blustery. Autumn is most definitely on its way and I'm having a huge craving for lots of warm jumpers and cosy shoes. I bought some amazing shoes today with a fleecy lining inside for warmth, I can't wait to wear them! These are just a few of my favourite jumpers from the high street, and ofcourse from Asos!

I love this jumper, it looks really comfy and cosy and a bit edgy. It doesn't look the warmest though, so maybe only wear it during the early autumn months where it's not too freezing? It's from Asos.

This Topshop jumper is so cute and a bit different. It looks more fitted than the others, but really cosy and it looks like it'll keep you warm.

I actually have this one! It's from h&m and only costs £15, so it's a complete bargain. It's quite thin so it's not the warmest, but it's so comfortable and cosy.

What are your favourites?

I don't think I suit those headbands

5 Sep 2011

You know the cloth ones with wire running through them? I look like a giant dolly. Are people meant to look like giant dollies whilst wearing them?

Proof is in the picture:

I don't pull the face in the second photo that much, honest. I just find posing normally for pictures too difficult,  either I look daft or like I'm about to kill someone. I cant do serious and I don't want to look daft. The second row of pictures are the products of my attempt to take outfit photos without the aid of someone else. The dress (which you can barely see) is from H&M. The oversize off pink cardigan is from New Look, the scarf is from Accessorize and the navy tights (which you can't see) are from Topshop. So much for my attempt! Please excuse the tesco bag and the coco pops in the background.

Are you excited much for autumn?

Waterloo

3 Sep 2011

I cant remember how long I've been meaning to post this. Basically a few weeks ago my boyfriend and I went to the Aquarium in London and although I have posted about the aquarium here, I haven't yet posted about the area it's in. I think it's called the South Bank, and it's one of my favourite places to explore, simply because there seems to be street entertainers lining the path every time I go. A few weeks ago when my boyfriend and I went, we were treated to what can only be described as freestyle gymnastics. If anyone knows the real name of what sport/activity they were doing let me know!

It was so interesting to watch and so fun yet challenging to photograph. I quite like the way that they look as though they're just suspended in mid air. Do things like this take place in your town/city?

Do you like the theatre?

1 Sep 2011

Again, I am sorry for not posting as much. I have honestly been so busy this week. I went to the science museum on monday, went to the theatre on wednesday and went out for dinner/moved flats today. I have also been really tired all week and I am not sure why, I've been sleeping the same hours but I just feel so drained. Has anyone been to the theatre before? I saw Richard III at Waterloo. It was so good and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would (and Kevin Spacey played Richard III!) I was really uncomfortable at the beginning because it was so quiet and my stomach usually rumbles when it is quiet (I swear it is a psychological thing more than anything), but I was ok and ended up really enjoying myself. I would have gotten pictures but because it was so quiet and I couldn't see any cameras around I didn't.

Here are a few pictures of my week. I feel a bit like I've cheated by saying my 'week'. It is mainly my time around London Bridge late last week. With the obvious shot of Tower Bridge.
