I received this primer also for Christmas. It retails for £21.50 and you get 11ml of product. The tube (which to my amusement looks much like a glue stick) is deceptively large as it is only slightly smaller than the POREfessional yet it holds half the amount. Luckily you do not need a lot to make this work.
The primer comes out a pinky colour and has a creamy texture. Like all Benefit products it is fragranced, it smells sweet but lacks the fruity element that the POREfessional has. I apply my moisturiser first, wait a while and apply this to my face. I have to admit, that this does even out skin tone and brighten my face well, probably because of the pinky colour. I could wear this alone with a bit of concealer if I wanted to, as it certainly makes my face look very 'glowy'. It provides a nice base for my foundation, and allows it to glide easily over problem areas, something which I found the POREfessional unable to do.
There's not much to say on this product. It does what it says it will do very well, however I found that it does not do much else. On me, my make up did not stay on for longer than it would usually, and pores are still visable after using this. It just evens out skin tone, gives your face a nice glow and provides a nice base for your make up. Anyone looking for a primer that will hold your make up in place should probably try out other primers.
The price is an issue for me. I can see this product lasting a while because of how little is needed, but the packaging design means that sometimes the product leaks through the holes, for £21.50 I wouldn't have expected this to happen, sort it out Benefit! If they sort out the packaging I may consider repurchasing this product again, because I do like the results and even though it is expensive it means that I can sometimes skip on the foundation! Have any of you tried this product? What did you think of it?

I like benefit, a lot, I´ll try this!

I actually bought a sample of this off ebay and recieved it today I tried it this morning and I'm not really impressed, it seems too runny and hasn't made my make up last any longer, boo hiss :( I reviewed the Technic dupe on my blog and like it so much more than the benefit one and its only 3.99!
ReplyDeletehttp://helloterrilowe.blogspot.com
Yeah I only find it brightens you face, it doesn't make your make up stay on for longer at all xx
DeleteI got this for Christmas as well, I really like the brightening effect it gives - I'll often apply a bit in the middle of the day to perk my face up - but I agree that it's not the best for holding makeup. I do really like it, but for the price I won't be re-buying. x
ReplyDeleteI've got a tube of this, great for brightening xoxo

ReplyDeleteNope, but after your review I am not going to buy it!
ReplyDeleteI've never tried it, but it really sounds good. Excellent review Sarah!
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried it, but I'd quite like to now. I only had my first experience with primer this week (I had no idea what it was before.. no idea how I missed that one) and quite like it.. but £21.50 is quite steep
ReplyDeleteI do need something that evens out skintone though.. I'm a blusher..
Does this product affect your skin at all lovely? I find that most primers give me spots! Great review :) xxx
ReplyDeleteNo it doesn't :), it doesn'g clog my pores or give me spots at all xx
DeleteI really like this product. I use it on my cheeks a lot and in the corners of my eyes, and it works well. It is pricey, though.

I've heard really mixed reviews on this product. I am curious to try it out but the price is a problem for me too. May have to pass...

I do get cheap make up more, but will shell out more money for the best skin care products. This primer looks promising. May look into it.

I like this but find it a little overpriced. I actually thing Benefit is usually too expensive for the amount of product you get but I do still like it !
ReplyDeleteOh dear, really doesn't seem worth it! I do think they overcharge for the quality of their products.. xx
ReplyDeleteExactly. I do like the results it gives, but it doesn't really do that much to justify the price! If it was £10 cheaper or so I woul definitely repurchase!xx
DeleteI am always a little put off by Benefit's pricing.. and this doesn't sound quite worth it. I have never tried a primer before either, so could you recommend a more affordable one that is a good one to try first? xox
ReplyDeletehttp://myobsessiondujour.blogspot.com/
Hi Tara, I really recommend ELF's Mineral Infused Facial Primer, and that is affordable at £6 or so. xx
DeleteThat does seem like a nice product :) I mainly use just make up foundation, but some day I might try using these too. ^^

Thanks for the review! The primer I like to those is the NARS primer.. I find that it will stay on all day and all night! It really holds down my blush or foundation. Even on a late night dancing :D Give it a try if this benefit didn't work out for you ;)

Great review - I always wonder how good these things actually are. might consider buying it if, as you suggest, they sort the packaging out - dont want to be missing any of my money's worth! haha!

i've actually never used primer before! i've heard good stuff about the gosh ones though- have you tried any out? i'd be interested to know how they compare to the benefit stuff.
ReplyDeletein response to your comment (in case you didn't see my reply)
aww the interview was just dead lifeless! She clearly had dodged all questions (and that was said pretty early on in the piece). I like the idea of the mystery of it all but then it's a bit irritating that nothing of any relevance or substance was said in the whole thing!!

Thanks for the product review! I was just thinking about this product, cause I saw it in local magazine, but now I know about how this product works on our makeup (:
ReplyDeleteJANE FROM THE BLOG
Thanks for the review! I use Smashbox primer, as that's what all my friends recommended, but I haven't decided whether or not it makes my makeup stay on longer. At least the Benefit product brightens!

i was thinking it would be messy to apply. do they think they can charge more because the packaging is cute? negative! ;)
ReplyDeleteI noticed this primer at Sephora just a couple of days ago so I was super interested to hear what you had to say about it! I'm still curious about it, though will probably try something else out first. Thanks for sharing Sarah, you always have the best reviews :)

i had seen this product but i wasn't sure how good it is after your review i am not entirely sold though, yes the glow aspect is nice however if it doesn't do anything else, its lacking...
ReplyDeletehmm my face is pretty clear so maybe i don't need anything else than a bit of covering and glow.
i'll try it out... and see if it works for me. thanks for sharing sara.
I've tried this and although I don't think it's a great primer considering the price, I'm absolutely addicted to the smell of it.
ReplyDeleteI bought this a week ago and I love it! However, I think next time I'm going to try the Bare Minerals primer..unfortunately I really love the smell & am completed addicted to Benefit's marketing.
ReplyDeletethis is a big waste of money. buy porefessional if you need a primer ou a clinique one.
