Excuse the overly pouty expression on my face! I always feel incredibly awkward having to pose for photos and I always wonder what facial expression I should pull! Also I usually use the auto settings for self portraits and the flash always blinds me when it goes.
Anyway, I bought this 17 Instant Glow Shimmer Brick in Pink Bronze a few weeks ago when we were having glorious sunshine. I actually wasn't looking to buy any make up (?!) but I swatched this in Boots and I had to get it! It's a gorgeous bronzed pink with silvery shimmer. My first thought was that this particular shade is very comparable to Bobbi Brown's Pink Quartz, but without the hefty price tag. I was under the impression that this product was marketed as a bronzer due to the short blurb on the Boots website where keywords such as 'Sunkissed' and 'Multi Shade Bronzing' were used. However I think this product definitely acts better as a highlighter because the silver shimmer definitely overpowers any bronze.
The pigmentation is great. I've recently purchased some highlighters which barely show up on the skin, but this one does. It gives a nice dewy glow to the cheeks without being overpowering, and whilst this product does contain shimmer it's not overly obvious once applied to the cheeks. The texture of the powder is smooth and non chalky and they last well on the cheeks too. I have to admit, I've been reaching for it almost everyday since I bought it and for £4.99 it's an absolute bargain!
Do you own any highlighters?

I've been looking for a good bronzer/highlighter product for a while now and have seen some really positive reviews about this one I'm just a tad worried about the even ever so slight shimmer since I am shimmer-phobic when it comes to my face haha! (: xx
ReplyDeleteit simply looks so pretty sarah dear! :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks really lovely! I own one cream highlighter and use it on my cheeks, eyes, bridge of my nose... I think I need this one as well! xo

ReplyDeleteYou have a really nice blog, btw. Following you now. Would you like to check out my blog too?

I really like how this looks on your skin - very pretty and natural as opposed to OMG-LOOK-AT-ME-I-SPARKLE which is what I'm always scared of in highlighters!

This is a beautiful highlighter unfourtunately they don't sell this brand in Canada :( But it looks stunning on you ^^ Thanks for sharing

This stuff looks very promising, your skin looks absolutely gorgeous! x
ReplyDeleteYou are my makeup queen >_<! My face is awkward though and whenever i wear powdery things it always looks too 'matte' and cakey :( so i use an 'Une' (an awesome natural makeup range, they dont test on animals, check it out! :D) eyeshadow (as a highlighter) which is a bit like a mousse and not dry :)
ReplyDeleteI love your reviews though Sarah! They're always so honest <3 <3
Have a lovely weekendddd :D xxxx
I don't have any highlighters, but this one looks very nice ;)
ReplyDeletethis looks like such a gorgeous product, and a good price for it too! xo

ReplyDeleteVery pretty! The only highlighter I have right now is make up forever uplight. I like the look of high lighters - they add such a nice glow.
ReplyDeleteOooh, this is actually really lovely! I have almost run out of my bronzer so might go for something like this instead - thanks! <3

This looks so pretty!!! I think I will definitely need to get this! xx
ReplyDeleteI think I do own at least one sample sized highlighter from Clinique.. if I'm not confusing anything, hehe :P but it doesn't matter because I don't actually use it. the reason is I'm not sure how to use it. and I'm too lazy to search for tutorials :P

Oh these highlighters look very good, I can actually see them on your skin very well!! xx
ReplyDeleteOh this one looks lovely! 17 do so many good products, love their nail polish. I only own a freebie benefit highlighter glamour gave out last year but they are perfect for summer make up! x
ReplyDeleteI've never seen this product so thanks for sharing! Great price compared to other brands, I like the MeMeMe ones x
ReplyDeleteThe colours look great. I don't use highlighter, because my face is so oily, I just don't like it to look more shiny.

I like that it doesn't look overly shimmery on the skin! Very natural looking!!
ReplyDeletehaha funny how the bronzer ended up being more like a highlighter! I think too much light glitter can really kill the bronzing effect. it looks great on you! :)
ReplyDeletemetallicpaws.blogspot.com
This is a really cute look! I don't use highlighter or bronzer, but will keep this in mind if I start to. Oh, how I miss 17 make up and Boots!

I didn't even know what a highlighter was until this post. So it's just a little bit different than bronzer? (I only recently learned about bronzer, haha)
ReplyDeleteI think you look beautiful. Your skin is incredibly vibrant!
This looks soooo great*.* It looks very nice on your face:-)xx
ReplyDeletehttp://whoateallthestrawberries.blogspot.hu/
no, i don't have any highlighter but i plan to buy me one. so thx for the review. and btw you look cute on the pic. don't know why you feel uncomfortable to pose. . .
ReplyDeletehttp://profdrskinnybitch.blogspot.de/
This product looks great and I can't believe it comes at such an affordable price point too. I think it's sometimes so difficult to find a good highlighter, some are so shimmer that it makes you look like a disco ball and some are so subtle that it barely shows up on the skin. This one looks so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI have the double wear too but in terms of finish and feel on the skin I still prefer the perfection lumiere :P
